Town Hall for Child Care Workers on January 19!

January 14, 2021

Child Care Workers are on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the virus has taken its toll on those who work in the industry.  Massachusetts Department of Public Health Data shows that there are currently 312 clusters of COVID-19 cases in child care settings affecting hundreds of child care workers and children. MassCOSH has joined with Community Labor United, NEU4J, SEIU 509, SEIU Local 888, UAW 2322, UAW 1596, and the Matahari Women Workers’ Center to hold a special Town Hall for these workers on January 19 from 6:00 – 7:30 pm. Participants will:

  • Learn what health and safety protections are needed to prevent workplace exposure to COVID-19 for child care workers in home-based, small, and large center settings.
  • Get guidance on what you should do if you or one of the children in your care have been exposed to COVID-19
  • Hear from experts about what paid time off is available to you if you are exposed and must quarantine or isolate, and how to access those benefits.
