Membership and Communications Intership

Description:

The Membership and Communications Intern will play an active role in promoting worker health and safety to the public, MassCOSH’s members and the media, while building and engaging the organization’s membership base.    

Time Commitment: 10-15 hrs/wk


Skills/Background Required: Strong communication skills. Strong internet and computer skills. Commitment to grassroots social change. Ability to multitask.

 

Marketing and Outreach Internship

Description: Creating and developing professional and timely marketing material to be used for fundraising, labor gatherings, fairs and other community events. This could include but is not limited to compiling press kits, crafting invitations and developing flyers. 


The Marketing and Outreach Intern will play an active role in promoting worker health and safety to the public, while building and engaging the organization’s membership base. This intern will also help develop and implement a marketing plan to increase the public profile of MassCOSH, thereby boosting membership.


Time Commitment: 10-20 hrs/wk


Skills/Background Required:  Strong communication, internet, and computer skills.  Great people skills. Commitment to grassroots social change. Ability to multitask.

Media Action Coordinator 

Description: Set up a successful system for MassCOSH to—

1. Gather opportunities for media coverage

2. Solidify and streamline media contacts

3. Get health and safety messages out to the web, media, everyone!

4. Distribute and manage those messages and coordinate volunteer writers/editors

Time Commitment: Approximately 15 hrs/wk

Skills/Background Required:  Advanced knowledge of the internet and online media.  Experience working with volunteers and strong writing/editing skills.

Technology Guru (or gurus)

Description: Advise and assist Communications Coordinator with online CRM system (Salesforce) and website design and maintenance (Drupal).  

Time Commitment: 10-15 hrs/wk


Skills/Background Required: Advanced knowledge of administration and configuration for Salesforce.com (specifically the nonprofit template) and Drupal designing experience.

*This position could be ideal for two people, one focusing on Drupal and one on Salesforce.

Audio/Visual Project Specialist

Description:  Design and complete a booklet and short video comprised of worker testimonials/first hand accounts of experiences with health and safety (or lack thereof) at the workplace.

 

Time Commitment: 5-10 hrs/wk (flexible)

Skills/Background Required:  Organized, experience with interviewing, writing and video production/editing.  Must own/have access to editing equipment and software.  Bi-lingual in Spanish and English a plus.
